1.) This semester was a good experience but wasn’t without it’s ups and downs. I can vividly remember reading the syllabus and not even knowing how to create a blog. The assignment I dreaded most through the weeks was our elevator pitches, but I definitely think I got more comfortable the more that we did. Creating the business plan was also much more fun than I expected. It was clear to me that I was a little timid in the first few posts but also was going a little more in depth than I think I needed to be.
2.) I think the most formative experience was the class format as a whole. I think I will definitely remember the multiple steps just to get credit for an assignment. I will certainly remember that. I am most proud for not “throwing in the towel” so to speak midway through the course.
3.) I think entrepreneurship is a wonderful thing. I think personally I am more of a workhorse and wouldn’t necessarily want to deal with everything that comes along with owning a business. I think I have certainly moved closer to the mindset, and will continue to keep my eyes open for unmet needs throughout my daily life.
4.) One recommendation I would give other students is that this class is a little like quicksand. It can get our from under you pretty fast, and you won’t think it’s too much of a big deal until the end. To perform best in this course, you need to do exactly what the professor tells you in the beginning and work ahead. If you work ahead the deadlines won’t mean anything to you and you can just focus on the assignments. The mindset has to come to you as you learn the different concepts in the course.

Hi James,
ReplyDeleteI think it's funny that you say you dreaded the elevator pitches because out of the ones I watched I found yours to be the most entertaining. I also like your quicksand analogy. When it is a Friday and you haven't even looked at the assignments for the week and then see that you need to interview five people, it can feel like you're slipping. Overall I think in some ways this class was a pain and in other ways it was pretty informative.
